Bedside tables UK, every size in cm
Every table on this page is 35 or 36 cm wide, measured across the widest point. That puts them in a gap most ranges skip: of the 262 bedside tables we recorded from a British trade catalogue, 39 are 30 cm wide and 71 are 40 cm wide, but only 12 are exactly 35 cm and 7 are 36 cm. If 30 cm feels too small and 40 cm does not go in, this is the size you are looking for.

The range covers solid mango wood with drawers or open shelves, two wall-mounted pieces in oak (as the maker describes it), and wall-mounted shelves that leave the floor clear. Every product lists its depth and height in centimetres, because at the same width they vary a lot.
Will a 35 cm bedside table fit?
Measure from the side of the bed frame to the wall, at the height of the table top. A 35 cm table needs at least 35 cm; we would leave 2 cm on each side, so 39 cm. On the headboard wall, a double bed (135 cm) with a 35 cm table on each side takes 205 cm, a king (150 cm) 220 cm and a super king (180 cm) 250 cm. That is 10 cm less wall than a pair of 40 cm tables. The same sum for every bed and table size is in our guide to bedside table dimensions.
What fits on the top
A lamp base is usually 12 to 18 cm across, a paperback about 13 cm and a glass about 9 cm. A small lamp, a book and a glass in a row add up to 34 cm, so 35 cm takes all three, with no room to spare. On 30 cm, one of them has to go in front.
Depth and height
In the 262 tables, the most common 35 cm footprint is 35 × 30 cm, and the median height of the 35 to 36 cm tables is 50 cm, lower than the 57 cm median for all widths. Match the top of your mattress within about 5 cm; the height guide explains how to measure.
Not 35 cm? Narrower: 30 cm, 20 cm and narrow bedside tables. Wider: 40 cm and wide bedside tables. Off the floor: wall-mounted bedside tables. Or put your three measurements into the size checker.
Questions
Is 35 cm a good width for a bedside table?
Yes, when the gap beside the bed is between about 39 and 44 cm. It takes a small lamp, a book and a glass side by side, which 30 cm does not.
Are 35 cm bedside tables hard to find?
Fairly. Only 19 of the 262 tables we recorded are 35 or 36 cm wide, against 71 at 40 cm and 89 at 45 cm.
What size bed suits two 35 cm bedside tables?
Add 70 cm to the width of your bed: 205 cm of wall for a double, 220 cm for a king, 250 cm for a super king.
How many inches is a 35 cm bedside table?
13.8 inches; 36 cm is 14.2 inches.
