Bedside tables UK, every size in cm
A children's bedside table needs to suit a lower bed, fit a smaller gap and have rounded edges rather than square corners. The tables here are 20 to 30 cm wide, most of the floor-standing ones stand 40 cm tall, and every one is solid mango wood with a curved or rounded shape.

How we chose them
We left out anything with square corners or a raised rim around the top. What is left are tables with a curved carcass or a round top. They are not toys and we do not sell them as such: they are the same furniture we sell for adult bedrooms, picked because their size and shape suit a child's room.
Height: measure the mattress, not the child
A bedside table works best when its top is within about 5 cm of the top of the mattress. Measure from the floor to the top of your child's mattress, then compare:
| Top of the mattress | What sits level with it |
|---|---|
| 35 to 45 cm | The 40 cm tables |
| 45 to 55 cm | The 50 cm open table, sold singly or as a pair |
| A bunk or a high sleeper | A wall-mounted table, fixed level with the mattress |
A floor-standing table cannot follow a raised bed; a wall-mounted one can be fixed wherever the mattress is. The bedside table height guide explains how to measure.
Width: measure the gap
Measure from the side of the bed to the wall at the narrowest point, skirting board included. The tables here are 20 cm or 30 cm wide. If the gap is under 22 cm, none of our tables will go in, wall-mounted ones included: the bedside table alternatives show what does.
Drawers or open shelves?
An open slot lets a child see and reach their things: a book, a torch, a glass of water. A drawer keeps the clutter out of sight. The 20 cm tables come all three ways: two drawers, a drawer with an open slot, or fully open.
A pair for a shared room
Two children, two beds: the matching pair here is two identical tables, and the price shown is for the pair.
Before you order
Every table shows its width, depth and height in centimetres on its own page. Wall-mounted tables need fixings that suit your wall, and plasterboard, brick and dot-and-dab each need different ones. Put your three measurements into the size checker to see what fits, and if storage is the real problem in the room, our small bedroom storage ideas measure where the space actually is.
